Introduction to Master Degree of Food Science and Engineering

The Master Degree Program in Food Science and Engineering was officially approved on March 26, 2018. It has 25 full-time teachers, including 2 doctoral advisors, 11 master advisors, 3 adjunct master advisors, 1 high-level talent with title of the "333 Project" in Jiangsu Province and "Six Talent Peaks" in Jiangsu Province, respectively.

 

Upon on university's project of forestry engineering (China's double first-class university strategy) and the merit of dominant discipline such as forestry and biology, the "Ginkgo Engineering Technology Research Center of the State Forestry Administration", "Southern Modern Forestry Collaborative Innovation Center", and "Special Economic Tree Species Cultivation and Utilization" "Engineering Technology Research Center" and other research platforms, it has formed an innovative research system for the industrial chain of high-quality edible forestry products processing and potential utilization. Typically, ginkgo, cyclocarya paliurus, camellia, pecan, jujube, wolfberry and other forestry-based edible products are targeted to develop forests. Researches on the intensive processing of edible food stuffs, postharvest physiology and preservation of forestry fruits, mining and safety control of forestry-sourced functional nutrients, and biological processing of forestry-source bioactive ingredients have gradually assembled through several years of effort, which give birth to "Special product processing and storage engineering"," Food Nutrition"," food Safety", "Food Biotechnology" four research directions.
