In accordance with the spirit of the State Council Degree Committee and the Ministry of Education on coordinating the training of masters of engineering professionals in 2018, the "Biology and Medicine" professional degree program of the Department of Food Science and Engineering is the original "Light Industry Technology and Engineering" specialty of the School of Light Industry and Food Engineering in Nanjing Forestry University. The degree of fermentation engineering and food engineering has been adjusted. There are currently 20 full-time teachers in this discipline, 4 Ph.D supervisors, 1 high-level talent in the "333 Project" in Jiangsu Province, and 1 talent in the "Six Talent Peaks" in Jiangsu Province. The researches include bio-based fermentation products, industrial enzymes and biocatalysis, food biotechnology, forestry-source medicinal and food resources utilization and processing, food nutrition and safety, etc.
